Sorry I haven't "blogged on" in a while. The main reason for this, is that the cord that connects from my camera to the computer so I can down load the pictures I take, got bent to where I can't use it. I've continued to take pictures, I just can't down load them yet. Bart says he'll go out and get a new one soon, he's just been really busy with work. Since baseball is over, we've moved some of the shaved ice opperation to Ceasors Creek flee market on the weekends.
Speaking of work, school is great !!! I love it !! I'm teaching the special ed language arts classes now, so I get to implement a lot of the direct instruction skills for phonics that I taught while teaching Kindergarten. Of course I have to "disguise" much of it to not be so "kid-like", after all these are high school age boys, but they are reading on a 1st grade level. It's very rewarding to see them wanting to learn to read better. Most of these boys haven't attended school regularly their whole life so much of the foundation of learning is lost.
As for Austin and Amber, they are doing Amazing. Amber is enjoying her last year at Springdale Elementary School with Mr. Green as her teacher. Next year she'll probably go to Cincinnati Christian. Austin is doing fantastic in the 7th grade at CCS. He's loving football. Their team has only lost one game. He's hooked !!! He's already conditioning for basketball.
I'm excited about my mission trip with Landmark's Medical Samaritan Ministries to West Virginia in October. It's a great opportunity to minister to the poorer areas of West Virginia. Coke sponsers the whole trip. All expenses are paid. I'm going to help in the children's ministry.
