Austin is playing football for the first time this fall. He's been wanting to play for some time now and we've been putting him off, saying... "Wait until middle school." Well middle school is here and so is football. He's loving it. He's playing for Landmark. It's a team made up of mostly homeschoolers and some kids who go to a school where they don't offer football. They had their first scrimmage against Reading last night and they did really good. Their first game is Monday at Landmark. That'll be weird watching him play on the very field where I used to be a cheerleader and where my two brothers played. I love football, I'm just not sure if I'm going to love watching Austin play it. Yeah, the mom in me comes out and I worry about him getting hurt. But he loves it. He proudly shows off his latest bruise, just to get a response out of me.
He's number 20. But I'm told he may be a different number when they get their game uniforms. I'm glad he wore the blue socks, because that's the quickest way I could find him on the field.
