Mississippi & Hopkinsville Tournament

Austin walking on Beale Street in Memphis... There's a song written something like that... Then I'm walking in Memphis, with my feet 10 feet off of Beale....
The boys being interviewed by a local TV station.
Memphis is only 10 miles from Snowdengrove Mississippi where the tournament was. Amber and I didn't go it was just Bart and Austin. We've gone to Mississippi for this tournament every year since Austin was 8 years old, so we're a little burned out with Mississippi.
Some of the team at the Peabody Hotel. The Peabody has little ducks that swim in a big fountain all day. At the end of the day the Hotel Manager rolls out the red carpet and the little ducks waddle down the carpet, get onto the elevator and return to their "suite" for the evening; until the following morning when they come off the elevator, walk the carpet and plop into the fountain and swim around all day. It's so funny to see. The times are the same everyday so lots of people come to see the event. There's even a children book written about the Peabody ducks.

I don't know why they don't attempt to get out of the pool, but they don't. They know though, when the hotel guy comes and puts the stairs back, they march right out everytime. It's so cute.

Austin at bat. This must be his first at bat, cause the uniform is still lookin' pretty white....I know this, no woman would have picked all white for a baseball uniform !! After all these years, I've become real good at getting stains out !
These are pictures from Hopkinsville Kentucky. The Flames finished 2nd in the tournament loosing to a tough East Cobb Team. East Cobb was in Cooperstown at the same time as us, so they knew a lot of them.

This was one of the smallest guys on East Cobb. This picture doesn't do a good job of showing the difference, but believe me they are huge boys. The Flames hung in with them the majority of the game. But one bad inning and the Flames lost 7-3, coming in 2nd place.
